This page provides links maintained for specific regions of North
America, and a few other places. It includes both "unofficial" pages and the
pages for the specific state highway departments. I welcome comments and
corrections to this information; you may reach me by sending Email to
webmaster@cahighways.org. Note
that, since this is California Highways, California comes first, and
gets a little special presentation.

Indiana County Road
Sign Gallery. Indiana has 92 counties and each of the 92 counties has their
own road maintenance department. Most of the time, the county road maintenance
department puts up the sign assemblies where they have jurisdiction. Each
county has their own unique road sign. Some of them use a pentagonal shape for
their county markers. Some don't mark them at all! This site's goal is to
profile each county's road sign. (Sean Lyons) |

The
Maine Drag.
This site features photo galleries of US-1 around Portland, an abandoned
stretch of US-202 in Auburn, and some termini for J.P. Kirby's site. Three
fantasy interchanges for some good, clean Photoshop fun, The Ex-Highway Index
(an obsessive-compulsive attempt at listing every section of relocated,
redesignated, or decommissioned highway in the state), and a few low-quality
diagrams of the unbuilt Westbrook Arterial, which should be developing into a
more in-depth page in the future. (Eric D

Detroit
Highways.Containing numerous miles of highways from Interstates to four
lane streets, the Detroit Highway System is vast and complex. Since the
creation of state highways in Michigan, the system in Metropolitan Detroit has
changed vastly. Beginning with the main arteries of Michigan, Grand River,
Woodward, Gratiot, and Fort, the system sprawled to include the well known
Interstates, and the forgotten streets which would be unrecognizable today.
This website will explore the existing highway system, the highway system of
the past, and the highway system of the future. (A.
Farina) |
