This question is yet another example of how the times have changed. When the FAQ stared, there were few libraries on the Internet; the few that were available were accessible only via telnet (terminal emulation) and VT100 emulation.
Today, there are many libraries on the Internet:
University of Haifa Library (http://www-lib.haifa.ac.il)
Hebrew University: Jewish National and University Library (http://sites.huji.ac.il/jnul/contents.html)
Jewish Theological Seminary. (http://www.jtsa.edu/library/)
Jewish Public Library (Montreal CANADA) (http://www.jewishpubliclibrary.org/)
New York Public Library, Jewish Division (http://www.nypl.org/research/chss/jws/jewish.html)
Haifa Library. (http://www-lib.haifa.ac.il/)
Jewish Community Library of Los Angeles (http://www.jclla.org/)
Chabad Lubavitch Library. (http://www.chabad.org/library/)
Albert and Temmy Latner Jewish Public Library of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, CANADA. (http://webhome.idirect.com/~alephtav/index.htm)
Princeton University maintains a list of Jewish Libraries at http://www.princeton.edu/~pressman/libjew.htm. Another source of information is the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL) at http://www.jewishlibraries.org.
The FAQ is a collection of documents that is an attempt to answer questions that are continually asked on the soc.culture.jewish family of newsgroups. It was written by cooperating laypeople from the various Judaic movements. You should not make any assumption as to accuracy and/or authoritativeness of the answers provided herein. In all cases, it is always best to consult a competent authority--your local rabbi is a good place to start.
Hopefully, the FAQ will
provide the answer to your questions. If it doesn't, please drop Email to
questions@scjfaq.org. The FAQ
maintainer will endeavor to direct your query to an appropriate individual that
can answer it. If you would like to be part of the group to which the
maintainer directs questions, please drop a note to the FAQ maintainer at
maintainer@scjfaq.org.
