December 2001: Granada Hills Parade

[Dads at the Parade]The Sioux North tribe turned out in force for the 2001 Granada Hills Parade. Although it looked like rain, the rain stayed in abayance until after the parade. Our unit was number 81, and it was a real hike to the staging area... and a long wait until we started. Tiny Cloud provided the trucks for the nation (for which the nation thanks him); they were already starting to get covered with silly string even before the parade began to move.

[Girls at the parade]As always, we marched to choruses of the Village People's "YMCA" (just what did the YMCA do before the Village People?). Many of the Sioux North girls rode on the first of the two trucks provided, although some walked the entire route. We all had fun silling stringing each other and the crowd, who, as always, enjoyed seeing the entire nation out in force.
