November 2001: Pilgrim Feast and Induction Ceremony

[Sioux North Girls by the Campfile]The November 2001 Nation Event was the Pilgrim Feast and Induction Ceremony. This event was held November 17, 2001 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Attending the event were Flying Elbow and Bright Star; Laughing Bear and Shooting Star; Red Sky, Red Feather, and Quiet Song; Running Rabbit and Little Bunny; Broken Wing and Beauty Pony, Big Buck and Tiny Deer, Big Thundercloud and Little Lightning. Dinner was great! It was catered by Rosies, and we feasted on chicken, ribs, rolls, cole slaw, and some of the dad ate beans. We didn't let those dads get too close the fire. For dessert, we had brownies (in honor of Little Bunny's birthday), cake, and Rugrats Ice Cream Bars.

After dinner, we had a campfire on the athletic field. The Sioux North's Running Rabbit was the Medicine Man during the induction ceremony. [Running Rabbit as Medicine Man]We all lit our glowsticks, when were told to do so, and held them up as a symbol. We remembered the aims and the goals of the program. We then had the fun part of the campfire, with Terry and Josie leading us in our favorite Y-camp songs, such as Tarzan, Little Swimmer, and others.

We all looked forward to seeing each other on November 30th at Tiny Cloud's house.
