May 2001: Monthly Meeting at Broken Wing's

On May 18, 2001, the monthly meeting of the Sioux North tribe was held at Broken Wing and Beauty Pony's house. In attendance were Crazy Horse and Tiger Lily; Running Rabbit and Little Bunny; Thunder Cloud and Golden Dove, Big Buck and Little Deer; Flying Elbow and Bright Star; Laughing Bear, Singing River, and Shooting Star; and Broken Wing and Beauty Pony. After our traditional opening rituals, Crazy Horse read us a story called "Why the Mouse Is So Silly". We collected wampum, and the girls shared what they had done to earn their wampum. We then talked about the Nation Games we would present at the Nation Picnic, and what our plans were for El Capitan. We then had a craft, with the dads and daughters working together to make leather keychains in the shape of a horse. The girls had loads of fun playing on Beauty Pony's swing set and sports court. We looked forward to the Nation Picnic, and the next meeting at Big Buck's home.
