December 2000: Granada Hills Parade

[Girls on the Truck]The Granada Hills Parade was attended by all members of the Sioux North Tribe. The weather was beautiful for us to march down Chatsworth Avenue, and we were prepared with our silly string. There were so many smiling faces. The picture to the right shows many tribe members on the haytruck just before the parade.

[Carrying the Banner]We marched to choruses of the Village People's "YMCA" (you expected something else?). Each tribe had their tribal banner being carried proudly (see the picture to the left, which shows the banner being carried by Tiny Cloud and Laughing Bear, with Chief Flying Elow just behind the banner (in the sunglasses)). Our truck led by a contingent from the Y-Papooses, followed by the remainder of the nation. Some girls walked, and some girls rode, but all had fun silly-stringing the crowds, each other, and their dads (not necessarily in that order).
