September 2000: Monthly Meeting at Flying Elbows's

The first tribal meeting of the 2000/2001 year was held on Friday, September 22 at Flying Elbow's house. In attendance were Flying Elbow and Bright Star, Crazy Horse and Tiger Lily, Laughing Bear, Singing River and Shooting Star, Running Rabbit and Little Bunny, Red Sky and Red Feather, and Thunder Cloud and Golden Dove. The meeting started with a new opening ceremony developed by Flying Elbow. The girls then shared significant things that happened to them. We heard a story about how the Indians got fire from the "Friends Always" book. Flying Elbow then related some information from the recent roundhouse meeting: the new process for spirit awards, and what events were upcoming. We discussed designs for the patch for the skate night in a few weeks. We then made suncatchers as a craft, and ended our meeting.
