April 2000: Monthly Meeting at Tiny Cloud's

On Thursday, April 13^th, 2000, the Sioux North Tribe gathered together for our monthly meeting at Tiny Cloud's house. In attendance were Flying Elbow and Bright Star, Crazy Horse and Tiger Lily, Laughing Bear, Singing River and Shooting Star, Running Rabbit and Little Bunny, Red Sky and Red Feather, and Golden Dove. We started the meeting with the pledge of allegence to the flag led by White Cloud. The girls then shared their favorite memories about recent activities while we collected "wampum":

Bright Star: I liked fishing and swimming at Camp Fox.
White Cloud: I had fun at Camp Fox when I caught a fish and when I went swimming.
Little Bunny: Rocket Day was funny because one rocket landed on a cable line.
Tiger Lily: I like Rocket Day because I got to shoot off my rockets and got to be with my friends.
Golden Dove: I like Rocket Day because we shot rockets.
Singing River: I had fun at the campfire even though I had 3 tribe members to do the skit at Camp Fox.
Shooting Star: We are having a fun time. I love [White Cloud's] back yard.
Red Feather: I'm happy that I caught a rocket at "Rocket Day"

During this meeting, we selected our leadership for next year. Flying Elbow was elected to be our new Chief, and Red Sky was elected to be Assistant Chief. We also started planning our tribal yearbook pages.

Chief Crazy Horse then reviewed the six pillars of the Indian Princesses program with the tribe. These pillars are very important to the success of the program.

The meeting concluded with an Arts and Crafts project where the girls painted wooden eggs (and their hands, and their clothes...). We are all looking forward to getting together for Dodger Day!
