Not pictured, but present: Tiger Lily, Crazy Horse, Singing River, Red Sky.
The Sioux Tribe kicked off their year with a pool party at the YMCA.
All the girls in the tribe at the time of the meeting were present. Congratulations
to the girls and their dads. In attendance were Tiger Lily, Singing
River, Shooting Star, Golden Dove, Red Feather,
and Little Bunny. We did our meeting in the pool, and told the story
of Toketee the female shark and her dad Umpqua who lost all his teeth but
gets new ones after being splashed with magic water from the island of
the mermaids. We shot hoops and played games--London Bridges, dunk the
chief, and choo-choo train, splashed and had an all around good time. This
was a good tribal bonding event. All of the girls are excellent swimmers.
Special recognition was given as we passed out annual arrows to Tiger
Lily, Singing River, Shooting Star, and Golden Dove,
and to their dads: Laughing Bear and Thunder Cloud. These
arrows recognize completion of one year in the Indian Princesses program.
We are looking forward to our next event, the El Torito night.
