"Sioux North" Tribe of the GA-Sioux NationNorth Valley YMCA Y-Princesses |

The November 2000
Nation Event was the Pilgrim Feast and Induction Ceremony. This event was held
November 11, 2000 at the North Valley YMCA facility at Porter Ranch, out on the
lawn. It was cold, cold, cold!
Attending the event were Flying Elbow and Bright Star;
Laughing Bear, Singing River, and Shooting Star; Red
Sky and Red Feather; Thunder Cloud and Golden Dove;
Running Rabbit and Little Bunny; and Broken Wing and
Beauty Pony. The picture to the right shows (L to R) Little
Bunny, Red Feather, Shooting Star, Laughing Bear, and
Singing River in the foreground, Red Sky in the midground, and
Flying Elbow, Bright Star, Thunder Cloud, and Gold
Dove in the background (Running Rabbit was your humble
photographer). We feasted on BBQ Chicken and Ribs, cole slaw and beans from
Rosies!
Our chief got us a
good position, right next to the fire. At least it was good until the smoke
started blowing our way! We all tried to blow it the other direction. During
the ceremony, we also welcome our new members into the tribe, such as Broken
Wing and Beauty Pony, shown in the picture to the left.
The skits were great! We especially liked the one where Josie and Terry kept throwing water at each other.
We all looked forward to seeing each other next week at Red Sky's house.
